Ugly for now, but soon she'll be pretty.
Yearning to see Peris, she makes a plan.
Best friends forever, claimed the scar on her hand.
When she lost one friend, she gained another.
Shay flew in and showed her how to hover.
A friendship, a bond; one to last forever,
But why did Shay see the operation with such terror?
For one last prank they traveled far
To the Rusty Ruins in the woods under stars,
A place unknown to all in the city,
The one escape from all that is conventionally pretty.
Shay sends a flare into the abandoned sky
For a mysterious man, but is it a lie?
Why would one choose to live out here?
Their life, becoming pretty, it would all dissapear.
One week until all will change,
But why is Shay acting so strange?
She was filled with resentment towards a long tradition,
But what could be so bad about the transition?
A day away, Shay's truth comes out.
She's planning to run away to an isolated whereabout.
They say their goodbyes but Shay leaves a key
"If you change your mind, come and find me."
Finally the operation, and Tally can't wait.
Though she wonders if leaving Shay is a mistake.
She waits impatiently for it all to change,
Then something happens that is so strange.
Tally meets Dr. Cable, who scares her a bit.
She says Shay was in a gang, and she had it with her tricks.
Unless she reveals her whereabouts, Tally will be ugly forever.
But Tally will keep Shay's secret through whatever.
Peris comes to Uglyville and Tally cracks.
She tells Dr.Cable she'll lay out the tracks.
But Dr.Cable wants more, eyes on the inside.
She must find The Smoke, or be ugly until she dies.
Tally begins her adventure to The Smoke.
But can she do it? Will she choke?
Tally decides to focus on the map,
But can't help but feeling she has put her friend in a trap.
